The Desert Mountain Annual Conference (DMAC), 5th Episcopal District, African Methodist Episcopal Church, respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through dmac5thdistrict.com, how it is used, and the choices available to you.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you voluntarily provide when you interact with this site, including:
- Registration & attendance details — name, church/pastor affiliation, contact information, and attendee category submitted through conference registration or Dance Ministry registration.
- Sponsorship & vendor inquiries — organization name, contact details, and information submitted through the sponsorship inquiry form.
- Component Group Leader submissions — content submitted via email by authorized leaders through the password-protected Leader Portal.
- Payment information — when you register or contribute through our third-party payment processor, Zeffy, payment details are collected and processed directly by Zeffy, not by this site.
- Correspondence — information you provide when you email the conference office directly.
2. How We Use Your Information
Information collected through this site is used to:
- Process and confirm conference registration, sponsorship, and Dance Ministry participation
- Communicate updates, schedules, and logistical information about the 140th Annual Session
- Coordinate with Component Group Leaders and conference leadership
- Respond to inquiries submitted through the site or by email
- Maintain accurate records for the Mountain Valley District and 5th Episcopal District
We do not use visitor information for automated marketing profiling, and we do not sell personal information.
3. Third-Party Services
This site links to and relies on services operated by third parties, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- Zeffy — used for registration payments and contributions. Payment and related personal data are handled directly by Zeffy.
- Marriott Phoenix Chandler — hotel reservations made through our group booking link are handled directly by Marriott.
- Website hosting (Namecheap) — our site is hosted on Namecheap shared hosting infrastructure, which may log standard technical access data (such as IP address and browser type) as part of routine server operation.
We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third parties before submitting information to them.
4. Cookies & Similar Technologies
This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our web host and any embedded third-party services (such as Zeffy) may use minimal technical cookies necessary for their own functionality. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; doing so should not affect your ability to browse the public pages of this site.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information submitted through this site, including secure file transfer (FTPES/TLS) for site updates and password protection (via cPanel Directory Privacy) for restricted resources such as the Component Group Leaders Portal and the Pastor's Toolkit. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. How We Share Information
Information you submit is shared only as needed to plan and administer the 140th Annual Session — for example, with conference leadership, Presiding Elders, and relevant Component Group Leaders. We do not share your information with unrelated third parties for their own marketing purposes.
7. Children's Privacy
This site is intended for a general church and conference audience and is not directed at children under 13. Dance Ministry registration is open to all ages; where a minor is registered, we ask that a parent or guardian submit the information on the minor's behalf.
8. Your Choices & Rights
You may request to review, correct, or request deletion of personal information you have submitted to us directly (as distinct from information held by third-party processors like Zeffy or Marriott) by contacting the conference office using the details below.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
